Manufacturing Warranty
Fine jewelry should outlive the moment it was made for. Every piece that leaves Om Gems carries a lifetime commitment from us - not as a footnote, but as a founding principle of how we build. Here's exactly what that commitment covers.
Our Standard
Before any piece reaches you, it passes through a series of hand inspections at our company -the setting, the stone, the polish, the fit. When something doesn't meet our standard, the responsibility is ours to make it right, for as long as you own the piece.
What's Covered
- A stone that loosens shortly after delivery, tracing back to how the setting was made
- A band or prong arriving bent, uneven, or out of alignment
- A metal type that doesn't match what you ordered
- A certified lab-grown diamond that dulls, clouds, or shifts in color under ordinary wear
- An engraving that doesn't match what was confirmed at checkout, where the requested text or symbol was within our standard engraving character set
This warranty applies to certified stones only. Certification is what allows us to verify a stone's original grading against its condition on arrival, which is what any claim is assessed against.
If any of the above happens, we treat it as our error to fix - a full repair or replacement, on us.
What's Not Covered
- Non-certified stones - without third-party certification, a stone's original grading cannot be verified, so we're unable to assess or honor a claim against it
- Surface scratches, dents, or dulling from everyday wear
- Discoloration from lotions, chlorine, cleaning products, or prolonged water exposure
- Prongs or settings loosened through impact, pressure, or years of regular use
- Damage from drops, accidents, or mishandling
- Repairs, resizing, or alterations carried out by a jeweler outside Om Gems
- Custom engraving requests made outside our standard character set, or errors in text the customer confirmed themselves at checkout
- Issues reported more than 30 days after they were first noticed
For loss, theft, or accidental damage, we'd encourage a personal jewelry insurance policy - our warranty is a guarantee of craftsmanship, not an all-risk policy.
A Note on Engraving
Every engraving is created from the standard character set we make available at checkout, and the exact text is shown to you for confirmation before your order is placed. Because of this, we're able to stand behind engraving accuracy - but only where the finished piece doesn't match what you confirmed. Requests for characters, fonts, or symbols outside our available set aren't something we can guarantee or take responsibility for.
How to File a Claim
Email support@omgemsus.com with your order number, your original invoice, your stone's certification number, a few clear photos or a short video of the issue, and a brief note on what happened. Please report any suspected defect within 07 days of noticing it - this helps us confirm it traces back to how the piece was made, rather than to wear over time.
Where the issue is covered, we'll arrange a prepaid, insured shipping label to our company and take care of the repair start to finish. Where it falls outside coverage, we'll always send a quote first - nothing happens without your sign-off.
Most repairs are completed within 7 to 14 business days of the piece reaching us, depending on the work involved.
Shipping on a Claim
Shipping to us for an approved claim is covered by Om Gems. On the return journey, any customs duties, import taxes, or clearance charges applied by your local customs authority are the customer's responsibility, as these are set by your country and outside our control.
Wearing It Well
A ring absorbs more of daily life than most people expect - gripping, lifting, washing hands - and over time, that steady pressure is what most often nudges a band out of round or a stone loose. It's simply wear, not a defect. We'd suggest setting rings aside for workouts, cleaning, or manual work, as a small habit that keeps a setting secure for the long haul.
FAQs
Do I need to register my warranty?
No - coverage begins automatically the day your Om Gems order arrives. Your order confirmation and invoice serve as proof of purchase and must be provided at the time of any claim.
Does it transfer if I gift the piece?
Yes. The warranty is tied to the piece itself, not the original buyer, and carries over to whoever wears it next - provided the original order number, invoice, and certification are available at the time of claim.
Are non-certified stones covered?
No. Our warranty applies to certified stones only, since certification is what lets us verify a stone's original condition against any claim. We'd always recommend choosing a certified stone for this reason.
What if my issue isn't covered?
We'll still take a look - you'll receive an upfront repair quote first, and no work or charges proceed without your written approval.
Is engraving covered under warranty?
Only where the finished engraving doesn't match the text or symbol you confirmed at checkout, using our standard available character set. Requests made outside that set, or errors in text you approved yourself, fall outside coverage.
Does resizing affect my coverage?
Resizing is available as a paid service through Om Gems, and having it done with us keeps your warranty fully intact. Any resizing, repair, or alteration carried out by a jeweler outside Om Gems will void the warranty on that piece.
Who pays for shipping on a warranty claim?
Om Gems covers shipping to us for approved claims. Any customs duties or import taxes applied on the return shipment are the customer's responsibility, as these are set by your local customs authority and vary by country.
Is there a time limit to report an issue?
Yes. Please report any suspected manufacturing defect within 07 days of first noticing it. Claims reported well after an issue appears may be treated as ordinary wear rather than a manufacturing defect, since it becomes harder to confirm the original cause.
What proof do I need to file a claim?
Clear photos or a short video of the issue, your order number, your original invoice, and your stone's certification number. This lets us assess your claim quickly and fairly, and protects both you and us from any confusion about the piece or the issue reported.
What currency are refunds or repair quotes issued in?
All refunds, credits, and repair quotes are issued in the same currency your original order was placed in.
